My doctor I see (George Pilcher) is fine. But the billing practices are devastating if you are not a top 10% earner in the nation. After I had a normal, non emergency imaging, I realized the self pay option would be less expensive for me to use than applying my own insurance (insurance discount was not as big) when the bill came in. My insurance paid nothing toward the bill and I never met my calendar year deductible last year. So I am effectively self paying the bill anyway. My 95 year old mom is in a nursing home. Dr. Walsh did her pacemaker surgery, but now she has a full staff of cardiologists at the nursing home who are doing a great job of monitoring her health. Two days ago his office called and said my mom had an appointment scheduled yesterday at 10:30 am. I canceled it (I am her POA and have the authority to do so). I have been going to Ascension Cardiology for a # of years. Dr. Weinstein is a very good doctor & takes his time going over the care needed for your problems. Nurses are very good also. The front desk very nice & helpful.
