I recently had the unfortunate experience dealing with this “hospice” company when my dad died of COPD. In his last days, he wAs taking 35-40 breaths per minute with secretions in his airway. I had to call an ambulance to help with suctioning him because apparently being in respiratory distress is not considered a crisis to this agency. They turned what could have been a beautiful passing into torture for my dad. I would like all families to know that this company may have "hospice" in its title, but it is merely a home health visiting nurse service. When a family member is in the dying process, which is very stressful for the patient and family, this company offers NO support for either the patient or family. You are given medication orders -- which don't always control the symptoms -- and told "bye, bye, good luck." One star is too much! This visit was absolutely a complete waste of time! The first person in my room (never identified herself) kept telling stories of her own fevers and invited/ challenged me to leave AMA when told they cannot do COVID testing. I had several symptoms and had an extended exposure. She took forever and failed to get a full history of other underlying conditions.
