I saw Dr. Juranek for about 5 years while we lived in Springfield. I found him to be very caring and competent. He and the other professionals at SPC do a wonderful job of managing a high patient load in the face of all of the changes with health insurance and other collateral source cuts and procedures. When we moved to Florida one of my few regrets of leaving Illinois was that I could not take him with me. :-)

This hospital isnt a good one to go to...take it from someone who knows. i just got in a bad car accident. i went in to get checked out and right now, im pregnant. i just found that out a few hours ago. i told the nurse that theres a possibility that i could be pregnant and she gave me a script for oxycodone. oxycodone will kill a fetus...the doctor just felt my lower back and told me that i had back spasms. and mind you ive had back spasms before. the ones that i had before only lasted maybe fifteen minutes, at the most. i ... read more

Absolute band-aid station. St. Joesphs has taught me a lesson. If you get sick, your better off dying than coming to these people. I was charged multiple thousand dollars by St. Joesphs ER where they failed to diagnose what was happening and send me out the door with a Vicodin prescription. In fact, this seems to be St. Joesphs only answer for many problems. The medical staff will treat you with the same snob attitude that you come to know and love from the Breese community. And try to aim your medical emergencies after lunc... read more

I am very grateful that we have a hospital in our community that is able to treat the patients with respect and professionalism. My family is lucky enough to not have any major health issues and we see all of our family doctors here. The Women and Infants Center is amazing!! I delivered all of my children there and would recommend it to anyone. The small atmosphere is what makes it seem like a home away from home when you are celebrating a new addition to the family. Thanks!

I have also had wonderful experiences with this hospital. my second son was born there and both my children have spent to many nights visiting the ED. We have always recieved promt, kind, and well informed care. I imagine the comlaints come from the people with minor injuries who need a primary care physican because my sick kids have always been given priority over minor cases . Lucky for everyone they now have an urgent care for the small stuff. I have lived on 5 contenents and 42 states. This is my favorite hospital.

I had to write a review after seeing the two negative ones posted here. I had two babies in the last couple of years at St. Joes and had a wonderful experience with both. The nurses and staff were all amazing and I couldnt have been more pleased.
