I'll always remember this hospital because my daughter was born here on September 19, 2018; she's turning 5 this September! I had a great experience, and even though she was a big baby and had some shoulder problems, it wasn't the doctor's fault. It healed well, and I'm so grateful to the doctors and nurses who did everything they could to protect her and teach me how to care for her shoulder. Now, she’s a big, loving, and caring girl little girl 🥺🩷
I had a doctor where it was clearly her first day. She started me on way too much Pitocin. Someone who was watching her came in and said lower it frantically. The lady told me I had at least 10 more hours until labor as I was only x amount dilated, dispute me being insistent, I was in so much pain and made her check (although she said increases chance of infection) And the babies head was coming out. Overall service and care was great, they were patient, knowledgeable and comforting. BUT it’s very unfortunate that they charge patients for parking. I understand that the garage is a separate business and what not but charging a patient after surgery or treatment for parking?? …come on!
Growing up I never had great experiences in hospitals, especially with my beliefs in holistic medicine and simple coming across medical staff that should not be part of the medical industry due to their lack of compassion and fogged up idea of medicine and healthcare. But, my experience at St. Joseph’s Labor and Delivery along with the Mother and baby unit absolutely exceeded my expectations and I cannot thank the staff enough.
