The food is very high quality for the price. Very delicious and fresh. I’d recommend ice water instead of warm water in capped water jugs.The service from the hostess was very unkind and unwelcoming. We were seated in the back, by the stairs to the basement, and assumed it was because we were dressed more casually than others. Our table was shaky, the chairs felt like they could break at any time. And when our food was served by her, I said thank you multiple times and was ignored. I’m so grateful to have this restaurant just a quick walk away. The pizza is excellent. Right now, I’m obsessed with the artichoke pizza. I’ve loved Negronis for years, and St. Joe's has the best I’ve ever had. I recently went to a highly rated restaurant in Cleveland featured in Saveur, and their Negroni was nowhere near as good as the one at St. Joe’s. My wife and I drove from Jackson to dine here after reading their story in Faith magazine. We found the atmosphere to be quite elegant with a small town feel. We were waited on by the owners sister, who was delightful to talk to. The pizza was delicious. My only disappointment was, after inquiring about the seasonal salad, which was touting, goat cheese, we were given a salad with but a crumble cheese.
