Sadly, people will read these reviews and quickly come to the conclusion that the person posting is mentally ill and not to be trusted. This is absolutely not the case. St. James Behaviour Hospital (Using the name of a beloved apostle to provide substandard healthcare) is poorly managed. The staff is not knowledgeable about mental illness or proper discharge planning. The La Department of Health and hospitals need to investigate them.

I just left there today and they gave me meds for my anxiety and stuff but one lady I was talking she yelled at me that I needed to be quiet there was two nice men there also a nice woman name Miss Jerry so sweet the food was good also I guess everybody experience is different they gave me Valium when I needed for my anxiety

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Their only saving grace was that a few of the staff members actually seemed to care. Shout out to a few of the night staff and a woman, I think her name was Natalie, who took special care to actually treat us like human beings. The majority of the patients had to beg to get the medical care that they needed. One patient, an older woman, had a leg problem and it was swelled up so big and looked concerning. Please don't work here or send your loved ones here they won't get the care they need administration do not care about these patients they're terribly understaffed and the workers are heavily overwhelmed it's very unorganized and unsanitary please avoid this place at all costs
