I took my daughter to see the Emergency paediatric team. She had a high fever that was not going away and a very bag cough. I waited 4+ hours to see the doctor. Mind you, this is early hours of the morning which was not busy. The doctor came to check my daughter at 6am when we waited from 1:30am. He checked her out, and then suddenly in the middle of checking my daughter out, he suddenly had to check on what his colleague had to tell him. My son just had an overnight stay in the paediatric ward at St George hospital following removal of tonsils, adenoids and insertion of grommets. Every single staff member, nurse, doctor, cleaner, cafe worker etc that I came across was friendly, accommodating and kind. My son was gifted a Marvel Captain America tee to wear into surgery along with other special superhero gifts and a careflight teddy. Went to the Kids ER at 10am . There were only 5 of us present and they keep us waiting for 5+ hours each. Terrible communication between shifts. Staff flat out avoided calling names un till we had to each build up the courage to knock on the reception windows to complain of waiting too long to finally get called
