Just keep looking for true partner in hospice process! They are good people but lack understanding of how to show up when they say they will. They can’t be trusted to arrive and always complain about being understaffed when they fail to show up. They constantly provide bad information from their social worker and nurses as a veteran and can’t help through VA benefits.
St. Croix Hospice cared for my mom over the past six weeks until her passing a few days ago. Our family has had other experiences with good hospice providers, but we think St. Croix is superior. Wonderful care, communication and organization. All of this delivered with kindness and warmth. We couldn't ask for better hospice care supporting an already excellent skilled nursing staff. My family had a wonderful experience with Mindy Harris. Mindy is the most kind, loving and compassionate caregiver. She had so much patience with my extremely ill Dad until his last day. We marked his calendar for the days she would be at the house. He would always be happy knowing she would be arriving and stated, “she is nice to me.” St. Croix did a fantastic hire when they brought Mindy to their team.
