Went here for Miami Spice yesterday and spent around $140 per person. Our server actually told us this was “the best restaurant in Miami/South Beach.” If this is the best, I’m honestly horrified. The only things I liked were the salmon sashimi, the portion sizes, and the drinks — although the cocktails were very basic. The “lobster” pasta was basically pasta mixed with lobster bisque and a little caviar. Apparently, mixing it was supposed to be some kind of visual tableside experience. Serevene is one of those rare restaurants that takes you by surprise and you think about often. While it has been over a year since our last visit, it still comes up often at discussions at other fine dining locations we travel to. The creativity and passion, as well as successful execution in the dishes here make a lasting impression that bubble up and loom over the many fine dining meals we have had at other restaurants. Sérêvène delivered the best Miami Spice experience we’ve had this year—easily five stars. The entire dinner felt closer to a Michelin-level tasting experience than a typical promotional menu, with every dish presented like its own event. Fabio was our server, and he made the experience especially enjoyable with his attentive, welcoming service.
