Home. That’s the one word to describe my experience at 519 W Melrose Street. My now wife and I signed our lease in July 2020 as some of the first tenants from when SRE converted this building from condos into rental units. We originally did our tour and it checked all our boxes: a private balcony, central heat/AC (which is all electric), modern appliances, in-unit washer/dryer, a private parking garage for our car, and close to all the action and the CTA. SRE holdings was a great company to rent from. We lived in one of their Chicago properties for almost 2 years. They were very helpful and accommodating with move-in and move-out. The building was maintained very well and any needed maintenance requests were responded to promptly.
I had a tour scheduled with Nayeli for 519 W Melrose. Upon arrival, I realized that Nayeli double booked the showing and I was touring the unit with a random person. I was never notified of this and did not agree. Upon walking into the building, Nayeli notified us that the unit she would be showing us was already under contract and not available. Never have I felt the need to review a property management company, but Nayeli and the guys who manage 519 W Melrose have done a great job. They were communicative, quick to respond to maintenance requests, and personable. If I weren't leaving Chicago, I would certainly continue my time at this location.
Best property management company ever. So responsive, they take real care of their tenants, especially since their staff are our neighbors. I'm relocating and am genuinely sad to not be able to resign my lease due to SRE service.
