We had dinner there tonight and I was disappointed with the food and service. The server was competent, but not friendly, did not check on us through out meal, did not stay on top of refills, we had to remind her about the bread that should have just brought out. My food was bland and the beans should have been cooked longer. My husband's food was brought out cold and a cursory appology was all that aas offered. The building was clean, and inviting, but for the prices I expected better.
We love sat-sun bunch. Bethany is wonderful and such A supporter of Lafayette Square.
We were early for our reservation, got a drink from the bar and then promptly seated. We received bread and water right away. We then sat there for at least 10 minutes before finally Anastasia stopped and asked if someone had waited on us. She kindly said she was not our server but would wait on us. We ordered an appetizer and then dinner shortly after however still not very attentive. One good thing I can say is that the food was very good!
We were really looking forward to it after reading the reviews. The waiter kept forgetting things and we waited forever for our barbecue special. Which was horrible. It had a weird taste to it, and then some sauce on top. NOT tasty. Also wondered if my husband's was cooked all the way. My son ordered the grilled chicken...dry. The only winner was my other son's meatloaf. Delicious. That is the only reason for the 3 stars. Overpriced.
