I’ve stayed at Square Rigger Lodge a couple of times, mainly because of the location. It’s in the quieter part of DC. The staff is very friendly. Our room was beach side. There are chairs outside each room. We enjoy sitting outside enjoying the sun rise. There is a coffee shop attached, but unfortunately we have never eaten there. The only thing that would make our stay better, would be a coffee pot in the room. My husband and I are early risers and there’s no coffee place open till 7 am. Nice & quiet. Has a beach access. Rooms are clean but it’s not a 5 star room as it’s not a 5 star hotel. It is locally run, I would visit this place again. If recommend it. It’s close to adventure if that’s what you’re going for. They don’t have an outside shower but that’s probably something they have in the future.
Most relaxing place to stay. My husband and I have been staying here every year since 2016 (we got married in 2015 and this was our honeymoon). The rooms are always clean, the staff is very friendly and I love the beautiful gardens. The decor is very relaxing as is the view from the balcony. I love that we can walk down to the beach with a bottle of wine that can be purchased literally next door at Bley's. Or you can walk across the street to grab dinner at Island Fever Rum Bar. Beautiful views and nice clean rooms.
Cute little hotel on the lake. Walkout to the beach and stroll for hours. Clean rooms friendly staff and good amount of good smelling towels ice machine on first floor. Each room has a little patio. There's a great little coffee shop attached to the Lodge that has good coffee cocktails and a special small plate dinner menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
