As a Korean, I was very disappointed with the Dwaeji Gogi Sundubu Jjigae. It tasted like tomato soup. I’ve never tasted anything like that in my life except for Tomato soup. No Korean flavors at all too. I will say the service was excellent, banchan was solid, and the Haemil Pajeon was t Really tiny but tasty. Probably the worst soondubu I’ve ever had. Seriously. It was super thick, like I was eating ttukboki sauce. Never had anything like it before. The pork slices were very thin and there was no egg to crack in. It wasn’t bubbling like it should when it arrived. I’ve had all kinds of soondubu over the years, good and bad, but this one takes the cake. I also tried my kids kalbitang and it was very bland and the meat was lacking. First of all, let me make it clear that our waiter was great. He was the nicest guy and the food was pretty good. But the guy who owns this place, Daniel Crawford, is so unprofessional and rude. My sister (who doesn’t eat some meats) ordered Bibim Naengmyeon with the meat on the side. We received the dish with beef broth in it. We called Daniel over to help resolve the issue, and he insisted it was the correct dish.
