RecommendedOutside of not selling ammo without the purchase of a firearm, they are usually an ok place to shop for 2A related items. One star, at best.
Today, you denied a shotgun sell to someone based on her size without a background check. I fully understand you can deny a sell to anyone you choose, but this ridiculous. Then, her Husband called and your weapon(s) salesman changed their story to, “We didn’t know if she was buying the shotgun for herself or someone else.” She’s a Nurse Practitioner and a proactive at the range. Mr. Scott, I'm terribly sorry, but I don't remember us denying a sale of a shotgun to anyone today. We get attempted straw purchases every single day. We must remain diligent in preventing straw purchases, at all costs. We are in the business to sell firearms legally, and that's what we want to do, legally. In today's climate, we cannot be careful enough when it comes to who we sell firearms to. We do not want them getting into the wrong hands. Don’t pay with a card. We were double charged. It’s been about a month now and no one at the store level has any decision making control. Our card company will have to fight the company for it. The store manager doesn’t return calls. They make mistakes and can’t fix them. Horrible business practices.
Racist experience with Matt and Bruce managers
I recommend SW just not this location(Phoenix) for firearm purchases. My SO tried to purchase her 1st hunting rifle and Mike and Chris the mgr made it a complete mess and drug the process out longer than it needed to be. 1st they lied about the gun being in stock, Then because I put the gun on my debit, they lied about how the purchase had to take place, as this was a gift for My SO. Overpriced and I know for a fact that they discriminate against their employees. You all are better off at Cabelas or D&B.
I had the best experience with Dick the bow tech at the Happy Valley location. He setup a bow for me to test out and even gave me a lesson on posture and grip. I feel like I’m a lot better archer after talking and practicing with him. I will definitely be going going back to see him and buy the bow I have had my eyes on 🙂

A great many of the employees in the store are not wearing a masks, and of course huge amounts of their customer base are not. I very much wish it was not the only place to buy this infernal oatmeal. The process of attempting an online, curbside pick up transaction had necessitated visiting the store twice.
