Mark, we apologize for not meeting your standards. As a small restaurant in a tiny farming town, we do the best we can with what we’ve got. We never claim to be fine dining, but we do everything possible to make our guests feel welcome and provide a local and artful dining experience. We prefer our space to be full of people and life and excitement, as opposed to empty and quiet. We understand it’s not for everyone. (But pulled pork is an Eastern NC staple, so we’ll always substitute that if we can into dishes 😉)
SpoonRiver restaurant is definitely the best experience in North Carolina. I’ve eaten at hundreds of places and no other restaurant offers the total experience of beautifully prepared and delicious food, great cocktails, special ambiance and the most wonderful and appreciative owners. If you haven’t been to this place, you are missing a wonderful dining experience� Ir is a hidden gem for all of us that live nearby!

My husband and I went for New Year's Day brunch and were very pleased. Food was excellent! Service was superb as was atmosphere. We will definitely return and bring friends. Well worth the hour drive from Greenville.
