Get all our hardwoods here! Good place to get your woods! They are friendly and know their stuff. You make a purchase order at the front office, take it to the back and give it to a guy, they get it for you and get it in your truck, and then go and pay. Very, very, convenient! Overall, its a awesome place.
I went to Spellman Hardwoods looking for plywood for a small project I wanted to complete. After I explained what I wanted to do, the lady that was helping me asked another guy in the front office what his thoughts were and he said "you're better off going to home depot, we are going to be more expensive". The lady still gave me a quote for a sheet of plywood and they were right, it was about $10.00 dollars more expensive than home depot. Spellman is by far the most versatile and competent hardwoods and plywood distributor in the valley. They have the best and most personable customer service, competitive price and fast delivery. I am a very tough procurement professional who demands the best price, quality, delivery and service and do not like to give up on any one of these. Do they meet all my essentials every time? No, none can. But they are one of the companies that meets my requirements most consistently. Can’t ask for more than that!
I've bought small amounts of material from Spellman for a few years and always been satisfied - until my last purchase. I needed a 3/4 Cherry plywood for a cabinet remodel for a new TV. As usual, they brought it out to my trailer and helped me load it. When I got home, I could see that it had sat partially uncovered an on one edge, the face had darkened materially as cherry will do. Fortunately was able to cut and discard that section. However this is the most warped and twisted plywood I have ever purchased - including crap... read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I’m an experienced woodworker, and am used to dealing with primarily “for the trade” woodworking suppliers. I was in search of several sheets of quality hardwood plywood for a home project. I selected Spellman Hardwoods (Phoenix location) based on the description of their product offering and related services from their website. We went into Spellman Hardwoods last Friday and explained to the people at the desk that we wanted 12 x 2 boards and would like a quote. The person at the desk told us that the hard white maple was $4.10 a Board Foot. We made the decision to go with the maple based on that price. Today we went to pick out the boards we needed and were told at the desk there was a premium charged for boards larger than 10".
