Theft and elderly abuse seem to be their standard business practice. This company owns the retirement community (The Oaks of Algonquin) that has been making unauthorized charges to my grandmother’s bank account for over a month ($11,000 so far) despite that my grandfather never even moved in. I would strongly urge families to find a safe place for your loved ones that values people and integrity. This is not it.

DO NOT TRUST Spectrum or THE OAKS WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE It’s very DISAPPOINTING that the human experience is not comparable to the aesthetic experience at The Oaks. It seems they put all their money into making a beautiful place to dupe the families into trusting them with their loved one. Unfortunately, this place is not about people. It is all about money. DO NOT MOVE HERE! My mother was a resident of Sycamore Creek (a Spectrum Community) and passed away on May 5, 2018. We were told that she was gone for at least 24 hours when she was found by my brother. No one from Sycamore Creek had checked on her, even though they are supposed to hear from each resident every morning and check on them if they don't. My brother rented a truck to move my mom's things from her apartment on May 27, 2018. The locks had been changed and we could not get into my mother's apartment. I called the o... read more
