They do incredible work. This has been my back for over three decades.
I have been a member since 1988. My experience was totally positive until Spectra took over and many things went downhill fast. The latest: I applied for a new car loan 10 days ago and still have not even been contacted about it. Repeated inquiries lead to nothing. So yesterday I joined the Navy Federal Credit Union (which is open to all NRL employees) and applied for the loan and got approved in 24 hours. I'll be leaving Spectra just as soon as I can.
I have dealt with many financial institutions. Spectra is unquestionably the worst. Their website is actively misleading - it will claim that no payment on a loan is due, even though one is actually due and they'll charge you late fees if you don't make one. Not only that, I had issues where the website said I had no payment due, the website would not allow me to make a payment (because nothing was due!), and Spectra nonetheless claimed that there was an amount due because of accrued interest and then attempted to charge a l... read more
***STAY AWAY FROM SPECTRA CREDIT UNION***This company is a complete clown show. They apparently took over other lending companies and didn't tell anyone THEY are the new lender. They call you with a strange unknown name, but won't say who they took over. I think they are Purposely acting like scammers so you block them, and then jack up your credit and fine you when you miss your 1st payment. VERY SHADY COMPANY
