My unfortunate situation led me to this experience. I fell and broke my ankle at home, no workers comp deal, no tedious paperwork needed, just a fall that led me to needing to be out of work for a few weeks. Thankfully I have short term disability through my insurance and the insurance company only needed one paper filled out by the Physician.
