I’ll start with the cons since you’re probably looking for an honest review. First, there’s a noticeable old/mildewy smell, likely from humidity and the building’s age (previously a Comfort Inn). It wasn’t overwhelming, but definitely there. Second, breakfast is extremely limited—honestly, it might be better not to include it at all. Third, the property feels outdated and poorly maintained. This is a good, basic, no frills hotel in a very good Galveston location at the Seawall. The rooms are spacious and have the typical amenities. Our room was clean and in good condition. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Coffee is near the front desk and not in the rooms. The breakfast muffins were quite tasty! Overall, this Spark is worth a stay when in Galveston.

I can not stress this enough! Don’t stay here! Saving a few dollars is not worth it! This room was beyond filthy. I was terrified to even sit down or take my shoes off. The rooms were not even attempted to have been cleaned! The sheets were damp and smelled of wet dog.Had finger print stains and hair in the beds. The bathrooms had body hair all over and toothpaste in the sink. There was mold on the floor by the shower. The whole room smelled awful and there was food and crumbs all over the floors. Nasty nasty nasty!!
