I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties over the years, but Sandbourne Santa Monica takes the cake for being the most dysfunctional and dismissive experience yet — and that’s saying something. The rooms are stylish and well designed, but none of that matters when the basics — like accessing the elevator or even getting in and out of your room — are a complete disaster. I visited my mother here and was charged $71 to park for 2 hours. I'd be pressed to think of another place in LA that would rip you off so badly.
The service here is the best in Santa Monica. From the valet to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everything is top notch. Beautiful rooms, great location.
Great location, pleasant and low-key ambience with a nice lobby and lobby bar as well as lots of nice seating areas and an excellent swimming pool. The gym is well equipped and laid out such that it invites you to go work out. Come on now! Unfortunately the steam bath showed footprints on the seats even though we were the first ones to use it that day. Checking in at Sandbourne Santa Monica was quick and easy, with Mark at the reception desk providing excellent service. As a platinum member, I enjoyed early check-in and a complimentary room upgrade, which made my stay even better.
