I wouldn’t even give it 1 star. The only good staff member there was my therapist Claire. I was there early in 2016. And my name is Genesis. I was put into the ED program. Which had just started at the time. It was a mess. At one point the staff didn’t watch me well enough and I ended up getting alcohol poisoning. Don’t ask I was 17 and desperate. I was not taken care of and kids ran away every day. The dumb fences were just begging to be climbed. It felt like a prison. It did not feel safe.

This place caused me trauma. There for 68 days. Serious patient neglect from case managers. I do not recommend at all.

I was personally in this program and it wasn’t a bad experience at all yes it was far away from home but I was able to stay in touch with my family and the staff actually cared and wanted to help all the kids

Terrible place. Management makes so many mistakes and instead of taking responsibility they just blame the staff and fire them (which is why they have such a high turnover rate). House managers gossip with the kids about other kids. The 1 good recent review you see on here is from the owners personal friend who was able to get his son admitted for free.

Only posted a rating because I lived here about 10 years ago when it was a place called New Alternatives 17 AKA Herricks Childrens Center. Im posting simply to state that im saddened by these reviews. Though Herrick wasnt perfect it existed to help troubled youth. I hope you guys get the ball rolling soon. But thanks for the pics on here. I felt such nostalgia looking at the grounds.
