Scott discovered his love of BBQ while living in Arizona, where her learned to smoke meat from a longtime restaurateur. With his love for BBQ Scott slow smokes all of his meats daily on-site. As Scott loves to say, We are always smoking at The Pit. He smokes his meats over hickory and all his sides & soups are homemade daily. Because of this, availability may be limited, so call early and order a lot!

Scott, your food never EVER disappoints! Those naked wings are the best on the planet, and ribs that truly fall off the bone. Everything was delicious, and plenty to go around (and around). Lincoln is lucky to have Southwest Pit.

First time ever trying Southwest Pit BBQ today. We called in before they opened to ask if we could get an order for 15 people in and Scott said yes. Super appreciated since they were on a time crunch to get other orders out the door. The food was AMAZING! Meat fell right off the bone and homemade BBQ sauce was perfect. DON'T EAT HERE!!!! The Owners, Scott and Todd Bartlett don't pay their bills!!! Our company, NIR - Nebraska Industrial Refrigeration fixed their cooler in August of 2016 and they did not pay us for a measly $110.00 bill. Every time I called it was an excuse! They were even referred to NIR by a common friend. That makes them look bad to this friend!
I love this place. I mean, there's a brisket sandwich with cheese and bacon and BBQ. It doesn't get much better than that. Smoked wings are phenomenal. I don't know if it's the owner who is there each time I am, but he is so kind and always asks about my day. I love the mac n cheese and taters and gravy too! Plus they have Arizona tea. � Happy to support a local business!
Started going her about 6 years ago. I usually get pork. I got brisket last time wasn't very good.
