Went to the ER at Platteville hospital for a fall that injured my knee to the extend I could not walk on it. The Physician's Assistant (PA) performed a "limited" exam of my knee, because the pain was too unbearable to movie it. He noted the knee was significantly swollen, an X-ray revealed no fractures. Was instructed to alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen, I told the PA due to liver disease I am NOT to take Tylenol. Physical Therapy was prescribed and I was told to go home and take ibuprofen. I had a great experience for the most part, at my ER visit yesterday. I had a severe migraine and although it was busy, I was seen relatively quickly. Nurse Melissa shouldn't be in this profession as far as I'm concerned. When she was alone with me she turned every light on possible and she didn't talk to me. She was about to put medicine in my IV without telling me what it was. I asked, and found out it was the same medicine I took earlier on my own to try and stop the migraine. Place is a joke, especially the ER,they turn you away and won't treat you because you had narcotics in your system. Well that will happen when you've had a major surgery and the Dr gives them to you. They only want to judge you on your past, doesn't matter if you're changing your life around , getting sober from alcohol, never had a drug issue with pain pills, but when you go there for help you are called a drug seeker, when you didn't ask for drugs!!!!
