Stopped here on our way from KC to Nashville. We were intrigued by the good reviews and the unique breakfast menu options! Our group had the Grits on Fire with poached eggs (amazing), Biscuits & Gravy and Pancakes (batter has cornmeal in it [9-year old said they were the best pancakes he’s ever had!]). Coffee and service were great!
I ate the Grits on Fire, cheese grits topped with Carne Adovada, red chile, corn, two eggs and Queso Fresco. So good, reminded me of Albuquerque.
Had heard good things about this place. Food is good and the atmosphere is casual. It is a diner, and it delivers in that category. Breakfast/lunch.... closes mid afternoon.
If you like spicy food you have found it. Wonderful bloody marys, excellent coffee and did I mention spicy comfort food. If you like tamer fare you'll also have many options. Order biscuits & gravy with Christmas on top — you are in for a real treat. Outstanding wait staff, best breakfast & lunch venue with limited outdoor seating.

I’ve visited Southwest Diner a few times while visiting family in St. Louis. The food, service and atmosphere are awesome. I had the best brunch ever there. I really enjoyed the bus waiting area, complete with mimosas. I would definitely recommend Southwest Diner.
Had the southwest burger & it was bomb. Hope you like spice though. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was homely. My only concern was the cooking staff didn't wear gloves😯🤔
