The people at Southside are incredibly welcoming, supportive and knowledgeable about Jiu Jitsu. This is the 4th gym ive trained at and I can honestly say the coaches and the training partners are here to help and will elevate your Jiu Jitsu game. Also the space is clean, and top notch.

I'm a purple belt and have been training since 2012. I've been training here since I moved to Saint Paul in 2021. This gym has a fantastic welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The skill level is excellent. You can expect good, hard rolls here without any over the top aggro or bullying behaviour you may find at other gyms. Everyone here is willing to help you get better. My 7yo also just started kids class here with his friend and they LOVE jiu jitsu class.
Absolutely amazing gym with such wonderful, welcoming people. As a competitor in the sport, it’s refreshing to be able to walk into a gym with not only high level competitive women, but to have a clean, safe, and encouraging room with people who genuinely care about you and making you better, is just incredible. One of the most elite and kind gyms in all of MN.
Update 6/9/2026! I dropped in again for a no-Gi class while I was in town for work and still an amazing experience! Enrique and Nick and the whole team there are awesome and will welcome you with open arms. Stop in for a great BJJ class and sign up if you live in the area! I dropped in for a class while I was in town for work. It’s a great atmosphere with high level black belt instruction, and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I will certainly return when I’m back in town!
