You guys have got to be kidding me, I have lived at Southgate for almost 7 years now and I love it, my son loves it, we dont have to worry about drug dealers, shooting or none of that, its clean and safe and the rent lady dont play no mess, you must of been bad tenants thats the only ones she gets rid of. I am happy to live somewhere that the staff cares about my welfare instead of just letting the bad folks take over. I lived in Southgate and lost my job. The management would not change my income status for over two month. When the second month came around. I could not afford to pay the full amount, they served court papers and padlocked me. This was someone that knew my family well, and knew I was having hard times and if I had the money I would have paid it. I just really wonder sometimes how they are able to process things the way they do. you dont want to think they are taking money and using documentation to cover for possible wrong.... read more
The apartments are old. Need remodeling and updated appliances. The maintance staff is sorry. Better off buying a fan than getting you air condition fixed. Managment is not that much better. She is never in the office but on the premises-LOL!!!
I TOO HAVE HAD SO MANY ISSUES. NOT JUST WITH MAINTENANCE BUT WITH MANAGEMENT USING HUD DOCUMENTS TO ENFORCE RENT INCREASES WHEN IT WASNT JUSTIFIABLE. IVE HAD TO DEAL WITH MAINTENANCE TRESPASSING IN MY APARTMENT, BARGING IN THROUGH THE BACK DOOR, DEFACING MY PROPERTY. AND ALL OF THIS WAS BECAUSE I WENT OVER THE MANAGEMENTS HEAD TO GET MY MAINTENANCE ISSUES ADDRESSED. IT IS SCARY HOW THEY DEAL WITH THE MANAGEMENT AS IF THEY CAN DO NO WRONG. its alright for an income based apartment, but it could be so much better. i still have things in my apartment that hasnt been fixed... i would recommend this place if you are a student with a child, other than that, find something else
