I’ve been living at Southgate Apartments now for 3 weeks. I still don’t have working heat, my car has been broken into twice, and the outlets are so old then none of the cords stay plugged in. I have placed 3 trouble calls and the issue is still not fixed. If this is the type of apartment living you’re looking for, Southgate is your place.
It has been a nightmare trying to get them to do what they need to do
The apartments aren't bad, a little outdated depending on your unit, some of the parking lots need to be repainted because they parking lines are pretty much nonexistent. My major issue is that unlike most apartments they require a 60 day notice to terminate your lease instead of the customary 30 day, so if you, like me have a life changing event and have to uproot in less then 2 months you're screwed. 4 months rent to terminate my lease early is robbery. For that reason I say steer clear of here if possible.
I moved in here two years ago and the rate was $565 a month each year they raised the rent roughly $70. If you choose to do month to month they charge you an extra $200 to do so. The office staff is extremely unhelpful. In the first month I was here I recommended a couple of people move around me and I wish I hadn't. With this latest increase we are all leaving.
Great place to live. The apartments are nice and the pool is beautiful! There is also a nice workout facility. Also, the maintenance guys are great and get everything done in a timely fashion! The people working in the office are super nice and helpful. I'd recommend renting an apartment here to anyone.
