SouthernCare New Beacon was over my brothers care and he died in pain with me asking for pain meds to be given. The hospice nurse told me she couldn’t see any change in his condition and he could lay there for up to 2 weeks and he passed about 6 hours later without being medicated for pain. New Beacon was called by the facility as well as family and arrived after he passed. I wouldn’t recommend this company.

This company took care of my grandmother and her brother and also her brother in law and sister in law. I cannot say enough good things about the nurses that came out and helped with medicine and keeping them comfortable, the bath lady who came to help with keeping them clean, the Chaplin who came out and sang and prayed with us, or the social worker who would sit and listen and do whatever she could to help.

Southern Care New Beacon Decatur branch has taken care of multiple of my family members and friends. Their staff provided top notch care to all of them and to our family during some of the hardest times of our life. I would absolutely recommend using them. Hospice can be scary because of the pretenses people have about hospice care but I wish we would have started using them sooner so we could have gotten more of the benefit and care they provided.

When hospice was mentioned for my mother I instantly felt dread. She had 5 strokes and getting her out to the Dr has become very difficult. Now that they’re coming to see my mom on a regular basis I’m so thankful. Steven made me feel comfortable from the beginning about this choice. Her nurse Jennifer and sweet Evelyn are the sweetest women. They’re so kind and have been such a blessing to our family. I highly recommend them to anyone. HORRIBLE! Our Mom died in misery with NO COMFORT MEDS, No diapers or supplies, No day nurse visit, No bath team, No Chaplain visit, No help at all. BEWARE!!!
