The ribs are amazing. I definitely enjoyed my experience there.
We visit , St Simons Island on a yearly basis and always eat several times at Southern Soul BBQ. Also bring home some of their rub for my own personal BBQ. Food is very good pulled pork, ribs chicken wings it's all good. Great sandwiches and I love the Brunswick stew. If you have to wait a little while for your food because they're busy in my honest opinion it's definitely worth the wait.
I saw this restaurant on Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives so I had to stop in. I am here in St. Simon's Island/Brunswick to work with the folks at Southeast Eye (John Imhoff, MD, Jack Johnson, MD and Russell Stackhouse, MD) on some marketing/strategy planning for a few days so the terrific Ribs and Pulled Pork I had here at Southern Soul BBQ have got me good and fired up to work! The variety and quality of the sauces is nothing short of amazing.....a great place to eat.
Mark came out to our family reunion and did a fabulous low country boil!!! Everything was wonderful. Also had BBQ one night from SSBBQ and it was fantastic as well!
Got the Burnt Ends plate with potato salad and baked beans, and was very impressed. I was full halfway through my meal. Will be back.
I made a to-go order on the way home from the SSI Coast Guard Station beach. I waited 45-minutes for my to-go order (with my family waiting in the car). The inside seating was almost full, and the outside seating probably 2/3 full, but it wasn't bursting crowded. I asked one of the servers to check on my order, and she came back with the usual "Your order will be up in a little while. I apologize for your wait." (I've worked retail, so I get it.) Absolutely delicious!! There was so much food on our plate and every bite was sensational! The staff was extremely friendly and inviting making everyone feel like home. Such a great experience! We'll definitely be back!!
I had to try this place out after my nail tech ana a customer recommended it!!The ribs were amazing!! There is a young guy name Jack that is very friendly and welcoming!! The atmosphere was exciting!! I would highly recommend this place!! I will definitely go there again!!
Southern Soul is off the charts. gREAT food and wonderful service. So worth the 3+ hour drive. Yep BBQ does not get much better. Happy Fathers Day Tim White.
