We were told by a friend about this place. We tried it on a Sunday and it was awesome. Best bbq I’ve had in a very long time. Crab dip was good as well. Very friendly service , inside is rather small but the staff makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in. They also have several tables outside. We will surly be back.
Fast friendly service combined with fantastic food is the ultimate recipe.. Love the seating arrangements always great to meet new people and by the time you’re done eating and talking, your old friends

Some of the best food we have ever had. Eat here everytime we come to the island. Must try if you come to the island.

It was good but not great by any means. After seeing all the great reviews I was excited because I am a huge bbq fan. I travel all over the country and try bbq everywhere. In my opinion, Southern Soul would be rated average at best in Kansas City. BBQ beans were below average. Potato salad was good but not enough flavor. Ribs - meat was good, flavor lacking and sauces were good but nothing special. Overall, to me it was good but not great and not nearly what I read in the reviews. Just my opinion though
The prime rib sandwich was definitely on point!! I saw firsthand why it was standing room only on the inside, and the line was out the door!!! I would definitely recommend this place for visitors in the area.
