I am somewhat surprised by some of the negative reviews. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Harris and his front desk. Recently, I encountered a scheduling conflict and they were able to accommodate my last-minute change (with 24 hours’ notice). They also informed me in advance that I would have a balance due for my procedure. From an insurance provider’s perspective, I have some experience. I've been seeing Dr Harris for quite some time, and I like him! Today, I goofed. I thought my appointment was for 9:30, but it was actually 9:00. I apologized to the receptionist/scheduler but she really came across as curt, if not downright rude. I admit to being slow on the uptake and she was clearly frustrated by it which, in turn caused me to cop an attitude. At any my appointment is now about another two months out. All on me!
A referral was sent by my eye Dr to Savannah Retina to get a base scan of a spot on my left retina. Called to schedule an appt and was told they don't accept self pay patients, so if you don't have insurance don't bother with these people.
Dr. Harris is a general optomologist. If you have a glocauma you'd better see a glocauma specialist right away. I had been Dr. Harris' patient for about 10 years. He took me in when I suspected I had a glocauma. He kept trying unsuccessfully with his limited numbers of tricks for too long until the desease was too advanced to be cured. Shamed on you Dr. Harris
My mother was seen about a month ago and was scheduled for retina surgery next week. Initially, the staff and Dr. Harris were very kind, informative and attentive. Her pre-op is tomorrow and we were informed today her surgery is cancelled because her Advantage plan is out of network.
