UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Yes, lets be HONEST. I never asked for a free motor - not once. I have emails showing your salesperson, William, falsely claimed my motor wasn’t under warranty when it was. When I asked about a repair cost, he ignored me and kept pushing a full replacement for $1,050.Your tech didn’t even inspect the unit before declaring it needed replacement. I spent $8,500 on one garage door & motor with Southern Home Creations. This company knowingly specified a well-documented inferior motor made with plastic parts - for $925 - nearly double its retail price - for a premium install. Unsurprisingly, it failed twice in under two years - as their technician told us it would. Their only solution? Pay another $1,050 for the motor that should have been used from the start. SHC was the company that installed my garage years ago. I had a nice experience then, and yesterday when I thought I broke the garage door, I called and William was nice enough to connect me with Jason. Thank you so much Jason. He was so nice and helpful. While driving on the highway I can’t seem to see the headlights of the truck behind me why because the driver is so close in my ass. I had to ask the driver repeatedly to back off even sending signals of going slower but that didn’t help he kept getting closer and closer I had to open my door on the highway by qt at a red light at 7 in the morning to tell him to back off. Nobody wants to start the day off like this.
I have now used Southern Home creations twice now. This time my opener was beyond repair after 25 good years. Southern came out on time, immediately recognized the issue and informed me about the needed replacement. After reviewing product offerings and recommendations for my needs I couldn’t be happier with my new quiet openers. Installation was well executed and no clean up. Very nice work and craftsmanship.
