I cannot recommend South Shore Inn based on my experience with their ownership and management. I had to cancel our reservation because Sandusky experienced hazardous air quality from the Canadian wildfire smoke. Cedar Point even closed early due to the conditions, and our travel party included children with asthma and a family member recovering from a recent heart attack. I didn’t even make it for my stay due to circumstances, and didn’t purchase insurance as I was certain we would be there. This establishment emailed me back after cancelling and wrote the KINDEST email to me, and then refunded my stay. I wasn’t expecting the email, certainly wasn’t expecting the refund. I can’t recommend kindness like that enough. I will be seeing you sometime, and hope a lot of others do too. ♥️
Adequate. The proximity to Cedar Point is unbeatable. The clerk at check in was pleasant and a bottle of water per guest per stay was provided. Those are the positive attributes of this antiquated motel. Upon entering our dated room, it had a smell of musty odor mixed with room deodorizer. A nice family owned hotel. Great for the price. Decent breakfast with pancakes, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, and baked goods. My son loved the pool with slide and I enjoyed the hot tub after walking around Cedar Point all day. They handed us chilled bottle water on arrival which was a nice touch and needed!
