"Sushi grade"? No way.. – This place was highly recommended by the desk man at a nearby hotel. Having had wonderful sushi the night before in Front Royal, I decided to have it again. I ordered it rare. After a considerable wait in uncrowded restaurant, a fair portion arrived. The presentation was blah; a piece of kale and two lemon wedges. Major Problems with Children and Mixed Crowds – I was going to meet my brother and his family at South River for dinner. His children and the children of one of his closest friends had ventured to the restaurant to eat as they had no desire to wait for us. Incidentally, my brother is a highly respected corporate CEO and his friend is a successful professional athlete. Great Find ~ Great Food & Service – Waht a great find. The food was fresh and quality. From the home made soup, to the fresh fish and Angus Beef. The serice was friendly and good. A nice VA. wine list. This restaurant is for person who wants quality food in a relax up scale setting!

Only go if you have hours to kill. – The last few times I've been to the South River Grill the service has been terrible. The first time I was there the food was good, but was missing something. The second time I had the tuna and it was way overcooked and the service was bad. I tried again last night and had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink order in and also had to listen to the manager appologizing to the people behind me and the people next to me getting irate a little later because they were still waiting for their drink... read more
