If you have never been to the Birding Center at SPI like me, you're missing out on a wonderful experience!! This place is quiet and peaceful and a great area to get your steps in!! Literally. There's a walkway that circles the entire center and there's no shade other than 4 "viewing stops", wear your hat or take an umbrella. Our family had a wonderful time here!! All the staff was friendly and helpful, and the Gator Country team were awesome to watch! Very educational experience as well. We will definitely be visiting again!! 🐊🐢🦋🐍🦆🦀🐟🐦

Great place, fun and educational. Took the guided tour and gator talk with Javi. He really is awesome and is very knowledgeable. Friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Will definitely go back very soon.
Be aware that to hold the baby alligator and snake you need to sit through a presentation that is longer than 30 minutes. With young children this could be frustrating. They could do it like the zoos and put that information where people could read it. We were also told that the boardwalk would circle around but it takes you out to the parking lot. And you could probably skip the 2nd half of the boardwalk. We weren’t expecting it to be so long and we arrived to our presentation late.
Entire family from toddler to grandparents had a great time. Our boys loved feeding the tortoises and wading with baby alligators. This will be added to our annual visit to SPI from now on.
