I feel more comfortable at this hospital than any other in RI. I used to take my mom here when necessary because the nurses are not usually burnt out and would treat her like a human being. Same for me personally. Everyone can have an off day but I never see anyone giving less than their best here. I've had to visit at least once a week for both myself and someone I work for recently and I'm never anything but impressed and reassured. On June 1st I had a Colonoscopy procedure conducted by Dr. Morris Elevado. The volunteers in the Lobby were extremely courteous and of great help with the Check Inn process. The ladies at the Scheduling Desk were very pleasant and thoughtful especially explaining the waiting process to my wife. The Prep Nurses were efficient yet congenial in getting me ready for the procedure. The Anesthetist thoroughly explained his timeline and it happened exactly as he said. My experience with South County Health and South County Hospital left me profoundly disappointed and with little confidence in the organization's commitment to patients and families. Throughout my interactions, I felt ignored, marginalized, and treated as an inconvenience rather than as a family member attempting to advocate for a loved one during a medical crisis. I’ve been living in Wakefield for the past 5 years and every time I’ve had to go to South County Hospital. They’ve treated me with nothing but care and kindness. Even if there was an issue. It ended up resolved within reason. They listened to me and thoughtfully did everything they could to make sure that I went home feeling better and as long as I follow the doctor’s instructions.
