This office staff at SCH urology department are the most rude and ignorant people I have ever dealt with and their customer service is the worst. You can’t speak to anyone in the office it’s a call center and with help that have no clue what they’re talking about. They should be ashamed of this department at this hospital.

I can't understand the negative reviews on here for South County Urology. I have been a patient here since 2015. I initially saw Dr. Richard Zurrner, (a great doctor) who has since retired. Shorty thereafter, my care was transferred to the very capable hands of Dr. John Heffernan. Dr. Heffernan is so knowledgeable and well versed in all things urology. His expertise, professionalism, tact and treatment plans (both medical and surgical) are second to none. Dr. Heffernan is also one of the kindest and caring physicians I have ... read more

I have had a history of kidney stone problems that required surgical procedures , for over a 30 year span. In 2020, I had a successful surgery that was performed by Dr Heffernan, a tenured urologist of this group, with a great bed side manner. Fast forward to May of 2025, and the experience was quite the contrary. A colleague of Dr Heffernan, performed a surgery in less than 8 minutes (per the record) and only placed a stent in me, and did not remove the obstructed stone? Took a week to get a call to a schedule an appointment more than a month away after being seen at SC Hospital ER.
