In there 5 minutes, cost me alot only to be told that my severe pain is bowel issues, have been for another ultrasound and I have immobile ovary, more fibroids and are larger, adhesion and possible endometriosis. Read endometriosis fb page, alot of people have had terrible experiences.
I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Southcoast Gynaecology. I had submitted all the required documents and clearly advised that I would bring the doctor’s referral along. I had confirmed my booking and was never informed that I needed to maintain ongoing communication to keep my appointment. Waited over an hour to see Dr Dontham to be in the room for 10 minutes and be told I’m too young to have the problem I’m concerned about. Even after telling her my mum was diagnosed with it and we experience the same symptoms and that it’s genetic, my mum also got it young and the dr still couldn’t be bothered to do any tests and just told me I was too young. Paid $550 to be in there 10 minutes and her refuse to listen and do any tests that I had been referred to her for. Very disappointed
After 15 years of treatment through this clinic by previous Gynaecologists, last year I booked in to see Dr Dontham hopeful that I would receive the same wonderful service. Unfortunately, Dr Dontham was blunt, invalidating, condescending and downright rude at points during my consultation. I have a long history of orthopaedic and muscular-skeletal problem. After experiencing recurring abdominal pain and undergoing a CT scan that revealed multiple fibroids, I was referred to Dr. Dontham. She recommended a hysterectomy via VNOTES, which I was booked into within a couple of months (public patient). I had an overnight hospital stay but needed no pain relief from Day 2 and recovered quickly after initial bed rest.
