My daughter was overdue her annual checkup because her appointments were rescheduled because of her pediatrician retiring.
My husband took our son to the Teays location twice last week regarding his persistent fever, cough, and lack of appetite, after he was sent home by his school’s nurse for those same issues. Both times, we were told that he has a virus and we needed to let it run its course. No biggie. We were prepared for that. It's really gone downhill after Valley Health took over. The usual transfer kerfuffles were expected, but it's gotten bad. My son's two year well visit got scheduled for about 3 weeks before he turned two. When we showed up for the appointment, we were told that insurance wouldn't cover it because he wasn't two yet. I had to reschedule the appointment, but we opted to wait and get shots that day. That was a horrible mistake. We waited over an hour, just for shots that would have been part of the appointment. Dr. Winnings is by far the best pediatrician. She has been taking care of my oldest since he was born. She has always listened to my concerns, reassured me, took me seriously, went above and beyond with care, not only for him but his younger siblings as well. I couldn't have made a better decision almost 8 years ago. I have never once had any type of complaint towards any of the staff.
