Updating to 1 star review. This place completely screwed me. The provider lied to me about it taking “months” for my claim to be determined. It took 1 week for the VA to deny me because of this facility and its fraudulent claims. If you are forced to come here, FIGHT IT and go to a legitimate medical facility. South Central Texas Healthcare was assigned by the VA to evaluate my disability claim, and the whole process felt disappointing. I had an appointment scheduled through VES. Upon arrival, I was told the provider gets distracted with children so I couldn’t be seen. I wouldn’t usually bring my baby but my husband is deployed so I don’t have anyone to watch her. A provider of 6 years shouldn’t be so easily distracted but what do I know. I know I won’t be seeing Alfredo Madrid.
I gave one star because it did not give an option for less. I was scheduled for a VA C&P exam through Optimum Serve and scheduled with SCTH. I am not from El Paso and I live in California however I when I got the call saying I had an exam I changed my appointment address to El Paso. I was scheduled for an appointment outside of the times I provided. This should have been the first clue that Optimum Serve and SCTH were not trustworthy entities to be dealing with. Very easy and welcoming check-in process. I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Powell for the outstanding care provided during my mental health C&P exam. Dr. Powell was very attentive and took the time to listen to my concerns with empathy and understanding.
