In my experience with storage facilities, standard rate increases usually happen after 6 to 12 months and by just a few bucks. Given that this location has high vacancy, I explicitly asked management before signing if prices would go up this year. They assured me it was unlikely, and that any raise would be a minor percentage. Just three months later, they jacked up my rate by nearly 100%—despite the facility remaining ~85% vacant. Nice new storage units. Phil (the manager) was very friendly and helpful (providing advance notice of street construction, keeping bays open for customers, and providing advance guidance for semi truck to access unit, etc.). Absolutely no problems at all.
