We have felt since first switching to Dr. Heckert's practice when we retired here six years ago that we get excellent care. He and the staff are efficient and effective.
Dr. Heckert listens to me. He explains patiently. He does not rush me through the visit.
Dr. Heckert spends very little time after waiting forever to get an appointment and is very dismissive of questions that I had regarding medications that he prescribed and my test results. I've never had a worst doctor and the nurse was very rough and impatient. There are plenty of better practices than Mid-Atlantic in the area and anyone who recommends Dr. Heckert and Mid-Atlantic Family practice must not know what to look for in a health care provider because this is a low quality facility.
I have been extremely happy with Dr Heckert and MidAtlantic Family Practice. The office is friendly, helpful and courteous, great communication. The practitioners who I have seen have all been very thorough and attentive. Impressed how the staff looks at improving access and care, such as instituting walk ins M-Sat. Great practice.
This “doctor” isn’t a board certified gastroenterologist and is rude, arrogant, and a know-it-all. He doesn’t even have an MD - he has a “ Doctor of Osteopathy.” I wouldn’t send anyone I care about to him. I got out quickly and found a real doctor who correctly diagnosed my problem and treated it. This guy is a scope-pusher so he can make money in his own facility. He won’t use anesthesia because he’s too much of a control freak. Look elsewhere if you require being knocked-out during procedures.
Dr. Heckert was very condescending, several times when inquiring about treatment or asking questions. Received a no show fees after cancelling an appointment and my health records are incorrect, which shows that they are not following through on documentation and when questioned about it, their best excuse was that mistakes happen. Mistakes DO happen and when they happen in doctors offices they can cause great harm to many patients. Choose wisely. Don't settle on Mid-Atlantic Family Practice.
I am an exsisting patient of Dr Harry's. I have been experiencing diarrhea for 2 weeks and called for an appointment. The receptionist offered me January 5 2018. What is wrong here? I can cal prior Drs I saw in Philadelphia and get an appointment probably tomorrow. How can I continue to live in this city when you need to see a specialist DR, have an urgent need and he schedules me for January. I hope someone see's this from the practice. Oh yes, the wait time on the phone was greater than 10

Dr. Sopa was on call November 27, 2016 when I fell and broke my femur bone. Being a Sunday and my looking into going back to my home destination I asked to speak Dr Sope about the type of surgery I would need and if he would be able to perform such surgery. Being a Sunday he refused to either talk on the phone or see me unless I would guarantee that he would do the surgery. That statement gave me a great feeling and I fled the Beebe Medical Center by private ambulance as fast as I could
