I recently applied to IHSS in Sonoma County and had a mixed experience. The staff I spoke with were polite, but I was given incomplete information during the application process. I was initially told that I only needed two professional references and one personal reference. I completed my application carefully and submitted everything as instructed. Ridiculous! My case manager called to say I hadn't received any services since they were approved two years ago. No kidding. I never received a list and interviewed only who did clean house. I was informed I was supposed to find a suitable person. Easy enough if you know someone. No one seems to care. A waste of time. I fired them and they sent me a letter. Sending me a letter had to have been effort.
