I have been going to Dr. Kapoor for a very long time. Ever since she started at Family Physicians of Chesapeake. She knows our family and history very well. I could not believe the way that I was treated by her today. She had zero compassion or empathy. I have tolerated her coldness because she was a good doctor even if she was not very friendly. However, the disrespect she showed me today shows her true character.

Dr. Mapanao is the single most thorough physician that I've ever had managing my healthcare. She's extremely attentive to patient needs and provides honest feedback and sound treatment regimens, including referrals to specialists if necessary.
Dr. Amabile has helped me more in 6 months than my doctor of 30 years. He really listens to your concerns and is very eager to get you on the right track to getting healthy.
She admitted she knew nothing of one of my diseases. She had no intention of learning. She expects her patients to do what she says no matter what. She will deal with basics, but that everything else should go through specialists. I require bodily autonomy, to be heard, and to be helped. After a stressful appointment I finished in tears, we agreed she was not the doctor for me. You decide for yourself.
His personality, professionalism, & overall caring captured me . Not only a Great Dr. but also a Great man .
From our first visit we have had nothing but problems with this office starting at the front desk up to the office manager.. All had a very nasty attitude every time something was addressed at their office via office or phone.. My dad is 80 years old do not go here all they care about is money and not helping with your care.. Never seen a office that wants you to come in every few months for this and that..now that my dad was hospitalized and in rehab unless my my dad comes in the office they will not refill his blood pressu... read more
The first 2 visits were ok, but the last one was terrible. She never sat down and started off with ' I don't know why they keep sending you to me, you are not my patient.' Called in a prescription and walked out. The prescription was not for the issue I was having. She was in the room less than 5 minutes. You go to a doctor in your most vulnerable state. When I left I sat in the parking lot and cried.
Dr. Amabile is the epitome of an amazing doctor that truly cares for his patients. I suddenly became very ill, no one could figure out what was wrong and just kept pushing me off and telling me it was in my head. I ended up spending about 15k outside of insurance seeing various doctors/specialists, etc...all to be told it was just in my head. Dr. Amabile is the ONLY one that never said it was in my head.
