We had a beautiful morning tour for a work event and we will absolutely be recommending this for anyone looking to understand the history and present day relationships that steward the beautiful territories of so called Victoria. Our guide was warm hearted, funny, deeply relational, and so knowledgeable. We ended with a group sing of the Women’s Warrior song which left us with goosebumps. həy sxʷ q̓ə si�m Melissa! Can’t wait to come back and get out on the water.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Wonderful Short easy tour. Filled with really great insight, amazing pieces of knowledge and history, and led by a wonderfully patience, well informed, and tour guide. Would absolutely recommend this to visitor or local in Victoria.
What an incredible experience! I cannot recommend it enough. You can pay for any tour, but what you can't pay for is the intimate, heart-centered dedication and tenderness that comes with this tour. Our guide Jen was super knowledgeable about the history of the land and people, providing specific dates, names, and geographic locations. I highly recommend the Songhees walking tour. I took it with Melissa on Sept. 8, 2026. She was warm and had a great sense of humor, a true storyteller. We left feeling inspired and optimistic after learning about the work Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments are doing together and about the Songhees Nation's efforts to revitalize the Lekwengen language. I had a fuller view of the history of the beautiful Inner Harbor as I walked around after the tour.
The Songhees Canoe Experience was a highlight of my day. Jen was a terrific guide whose passion and storytelling brought the experience to life, and Percy’s expert canoe handling made the trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
