Experience — Would Not Recommend My experience at Sonesta Essential Hotel Houston-I-45 Spring was very disappointing. The hotel had a strong sewage-like odor throughout the property during my stay, to the point that it made me nauseated. The smell was so unpleasant that I decided to leave early. To make matters worse, I paid a $50 cash deposit, and upon checking out, I was told that my deposit would not be returned because there was foundation makeup on the sheets. This place is absolutely disgusting.
The whole second floor smells like pee, the floors in my room left a...residue on the bottoms of your feet, the desk clerks are unprofessional and unhelpful (atleast 2 of them), the elevator sounded/felt like a death trap, the whole first floor smells like curry,stains and rust in the tub/bathroom, no soap in the bathroom body soap dispenser for the shower, really the bathroom just seemed gross-maybe it was all the random stains like the one on the toilet seat; the elevator also smelled like someone peed in it and management... read more
Great stay. The room was very clean. Absolutely no bugs anywhere. I was skeptical about this stay due to old reviews. The hotel has been newly renovated. Other than the breakfast not having many options everything else was perfect. AC worked great. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all provided. Hand soap and lotion as well. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area.
Managed by a nice, warm family. The rooms are clean and spacious, the service is good. Overall a good value option.
