Bait & Switch - I reserved a suite based upon my family's needs but got a different one that wasn't suitable. The only response from the front desk was "sorry" but we're out of the suite you reserved. The hotel GM did not respond after multiple attempts. Corporate did, and all they would offer is the hotel is independently owned and operated (no brand standards from Sonesta apparently) and they offered points towards a future stay - which given this experience isn't going to happen. Here for a soccer tournament and it was one of the required stay to play sites. Rooms are large, have full kitchens and room to spread out. We were able to reserve the breakfast area for a team dinner and the outdoor pool was great for our loud boys! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again due to space, location and amenities. Room could use a refresh. We had a great stay at the Sonesta ES Suites in Schaumburg. The location is excellent, located conveniently in Schaumburg, about 30-40 mins from Downtown Chicago, and right near a large mall, also lots of restaurants nearby. We loved the amenities of this hotel, we stayed over Labor Day weekend and the outdoor pool was great, it was heated, and our kids also loved the basketball court.
