Came here for a single night while interviewing at UVA. It was in a specious room with a kitchen. Kathy at check-in noticed I was a solo female traveler and made sure I was in a safe room and was discreet about naming my room number in front of other guest. Excellent awareness and very much appreciated her kindness.
We have stayed here many times over the holidays. Good location. The rooms are starting to show their age. We had to change rooms because the shower control did not work. The breakfast is so-so with the powdered eggs. The best part is watching the pancake machine. Meh.
The hotel overall was clean and comfortable. While most hotels only offer bagels, juice, and coffee for breakfast this one offered a surprising range of options. My only real complaint is with the staff that checked us in. The entire check in experience was unpleasant. It started off on the wrong foot when I was greeted by "what do you want".
