First of all, the location is perfect and the best part about this hotel. Unfortunately, all other aspects are really lacking, considering how well the marketing is done. Room was booked for 3 people (Bed + Sofa bed), yet the sofa bed was not set up and no bedding was provided for us to set it up. The Sonder brand encourages you to use the app to chat, but it felt like I was chatting to multiple people or AI, trying to arrange for appropriate bedding & towels to be sent up to the room. It is very disappointing that Sonder informed us just one week prior to our stay that they are no longer managing the said property, placing us in a difficult and awkward position as we now have to search for alternative accommodation for our vacation. Our reservation was made back in December 2024, giving Sonder ample time to provide proper notice if they were truly committed to customer care. My stay at Sonder The Beacon was disappointing. As someone who has stayed in hotel-like Airbnbs before, I had certain expectations that were not met. The reservation was for an ocean view, but the room was in the corner of the building, so the view wasn't as expected. The bathroom lacked a counter and had only one shower curtain, which led to water on the floor after every shower.
